It’s Wednesday; it’s rainy and we’re whiney. We decided to take this week off from the regularly scheduled blog program. Promise to be back monday, bright eyed and bushy tailed.
Until then, check out two professional photos of our Design on a Dime vignette benefiting Housing Works. Thank you thank you to photographer, Michael Rodenbush, who donated his time and talent and took these shots for us! We’re so proud to be a part of this incredible event, which this year raised $850,000 !!!

Company: Talking Walls NYC / Pattern: Complex / Color: Custom
This week’s wallpaper weekly is in fact not wallpaper. For this special edition, we feature the talented Michael Loughlin of Talking Walls NYC.

Loughlin creates hand painted designs for interior walls in repeat, resulting in a dramatic visual statement similar to wallpaper. For example…

Michael has so generously and enthusiastically volunteered his time and talent for our Design on a Dime vignette, opening tomorrow (Thursday, April 26) to benefit Housing Works Charity. A very special thank you to TalkingWallsNYC AND to Valspar who sponsor the event and donated all the paint.
Check out a sneak peek of the pattern and colors that we developed with Michael which will cover our vignette walls (a kid’s room):

We are so thrilled for the events of today: the Design on a Dime opening night reception to support NYC charity Housing Works! After a long day of on site preparation, our vignette is complete and photo ready! We could not be more excited to both represent Traditional Home magazine and be so integrally involved in the Housing Works efforts to raise money to fight AIDS and homelessness.

This year, the proceeds from Design on a Dime will be given specifically to Housing Works’ latest housing project, the Jefferson Avenue Housing Program. Located in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood (one of the New York communities hardest hit by AIDS), the building is being transformed into 12 apartments for homeless New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS…an incredible cause.
Thank you to all of our friends, family and supporters, and most especially to those special vendors who have so generously donated to our vignette. We can’t wait to see everyone later today and support an amazing cause!
