S, M, L, XL: Vermicular…Worms!

A more regularized vermicular: “Squiggle” Rug, Vivienne Westwood for The Rug Company
Vermicular! Worms!! A little history…the Ancient Roman term “vermiculatus” described a pattern “inlaid as if in the tracks of worms,” which has been used in architecture and design for centuries. Originally carved into stone as surface ornament, the pattern was adopted into global textile design, seen in both Western patterns as well as most notably in the background of Indian palampores. Centuries later, we’re still fans of this decorative motif!
